360,353. Metal gratings; reinforced concrete. STEPHENSON, H. P., 11, Balfour Terrace, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. Aug. 14, 1930, Nos. 17158/31, (divided on 360,972), and 17157/31. [Classes 20 (iv) and 107.] Metal gratings for floors and steps and for reinforcing concrete consist of longitudinal and transverse flanged bars, either built up or made by folding over the edges of flat bars as flanges. One series is laid on the other and secured by welding or otherwise at the crossing points. Fig. 1 shows diagrammatically two series of channel bars, but other sections may be used, such as I, T, L, or Z. The webs may be horizontal or vertical in either or both series. Figs. 14 and 15 show built-up sections formed by welding or otherwise securing the component bars together and Figs. 16 to 22 show folded flat bars.
