Aug. 6, 1930, No. 23590. Convention date, Aug. 6, 1929. [Class 38 (v).] Retarding and time-limit devices.-An electromagnetic relay is provided with a winding. r adapted on energization to raise a core s which is linked to a pivoted arm t formed with a toothed sector adapted to engage and drive a clockwork retarding gear g. The final driven member of the clockwork gear consists of an escapement wheel w co-operating with an escapement lever c. The movements of the escapement lever are, however, according to the invention controlled by a resilient member e anchored at one end b and carrying at its free end a weight a shaped to engage a resilient member d attached to the escapement lever c. Thus the retarded operation of the relay is timed accurately by the vibration of the resilient member e with its attached weight a.
