Abstract
233,828. Whidbourne, H. March 18, 1924. Electric clocks.-Impulses are imparted to the pendulum of an electric clock at the position of maximum velocity by a wedge 3 or a gravityactuated pivoted lever 4 adapted to impinge on a roller 2 on the pendulum. The lever 4 is supported by a latch 5 frictionally retained in engagement therewith against the action of a weight 6. On each swing contact between the roller 2 and the wedge 3 disturbs and releases the latch 5, and the lever 4 falls, giving an impulse to the pendulum. The lever 4 is replaced by the weighted lever 13 which completes the circuit through the electromagnet by a contact 10 and effects its release by the withdrawal of the armature 12. The link 16 at the same time restores the latch 5 through the hair spring
