Abstract
221,626. Prince, C. E. Aug. 10, 1923. Addition to 206,186. Electric clocks. - The impulses to the pendulum are given by spring or weight in which energy is stored by the operation of an electromagnetic circuit-breaker as described in the parent Specification. The pendulum 1 is mechanically free, and is solely used to close the contacts 3, 3<1> and 4, 4' through the circuit-reverser consisting of a pivoted armature 12 and contact spring 11. The pendulum is energized by gravity or by springs such as 27 arranged to act on the pendulum 1, Fig. 4a, during a longer period on the inward than on the outward swing, the springs being retracted for this purpose by a pin 29 electromagnetically operated before contact of the pendulum therewith on the outward swing. The impulses to the pendulum may also be given by an electromagnet in the time-indicating circuit 14, 15. The contact 4, 4' may be omitted, and a contact, such as 4, 3<1>, established by the pendulum leaving the spring 3<1>, substituted therefor. The position of the contact spring 27 is adjustable with relation to the central position of the pendulum by rotating the apertured case on a cranked holder.
