359,822. Recording-apparatus. SIE-- MENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemens-- stadt, Berlin. Jan. 19, 1931, No. 1802. Convention date, April 14, 1930. Addition to 359,810. [Class 106 (iv).] Graduation of record surface.-In a photographic recording device as described in the parent Specification for projecting time ordinates transversely upon the record surface the length of the ordinates is regulated by interposing an additional lens in the path of the light rays. As shown, rays of light from a source 1 are passed through a condenserlens 2 and an apertured screen 3 to a rotating or oscillating lens 5 and are reflected and focused by a cylindrical lens on a record drum. The length of the ordinate thus produced depends upon the angle of aperture of the rays through the screen 3. To enlarge this aperture a condensing lens 7 is mounted in the path of the incident rays or a concave lens can be placed in the path of the reflected rays.
