Abstract
359,749. Electric incandescent lamps. VEREINIGTE GLœHLAMPEN UND ELECTRICIT€TS AKT.-GES., Ujpest, near Budapest. Nov. 10, 1930, No. 33797. Convention date, Aug. 8. [Class 39 (ii).] Gas-filled electric incandescent lamps with metallic filaments are provided with a filling gas having a molecular weight which is at least onethird of the molecular weight of the substance of which the filament is made and is stable at the temperature of the filament. The rare gases of high molecular weight such as crypton and xenon are used as a filling for tungsten filament lamps. A quantity of another inert gas such as nitrogen may be added to the gas of high molecular weight, the partial pressure of the latter gas preferably being equal to 10 mm. of mercury.
