359,413. Girders. BUDD MANUFACTURING CO., E. G., 2500, Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Ragsdale, E. J. W.; Curren Terrace, Norristown, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) July 17, 1930, No. 21695. Convention date, July 18, 1929. [Class 20 (iv).] Built-up girders consist of booms 10, 11 of channel section connected by continuous zig-zag bracing 13 of channel or angle section, the bracing being flattened at the bends 17 and welded to the booms, and the boom flanges clinched over as shown. The ends 20 of the lower boom are flattened out and folded over the reduced end 15 of the upper boom to form a bearing, and an opening 22 is provided for securing means. Reinforcing channels 23 may be nested in and welded to the bracing 13. The material may be light-gauge strip stock.
