Abstract
358,848. Wrapping machines. DANIELS, T., 72, Poststrasse, Weveling- hoven, Germany. March 2, 1931, No. 6480. Convention date, April 19, 1930. [Class 94 (i).] In a machine for wrapping a number of tablets arranged side-by-side to form a column, the tablets arrive through channels a and form a column which is received in co-operating recesses b in rollers c rotating at the same peripheral speed in opposite directions. Spring-pressed members h bear on the ends of the column until it arrives, in position over a recess d in a drum f. At this point, the column is released and falls upon rollers z in the recess, carrying with it a wrapper g. Some of the rollers may have an elastic endless band arranged round them to prevent the forward end of the wrapper from being entangled. The drum f revolves, bringing the column into contact with a resilient surface n ; the column is thereby rotated and wraps itself in the wrapper. The overlapping edges are turned down by folders o and the packet falls out of the machine on arrival at the lowermost position.
