Abstract

358,739. Hair waving appliances. HASELBACHER, J., 8, Palmgasse, Vienna. Oct. 21, 1930, No. 31530. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1929. [Class 131.] A heat-insulating clip for applying to the root of a tress of hair during permanent waving comprises hinged jaws 1, 2, each jaw consisting of a pair of spaced-apart toothed plates 1a, 1b, and 2a, 2b respectively, the teeth 8 of the bottom plates 1b, 2b being staggered with respect to the teeth 7 of the upper plates 1a, 2a. The jaw 1 is provided with a projecting ledge 9 adapted to engage in the space 10 between the plates of the jaw 2, the ledge being of a resilient nature and preferably consisting of a rubber-tube containing a sinuous wire spring. The clip is provided at one end with a hinged clamp 14 for carrying the hair curler 15 which is positioned by ventilated ledges 16 attached to the jaws 1, 2.
