Abstract
358,681. Heating water by electricity. NICHOLSON, S. B., Hughes Road, Bombay India. Sept. 13, 1930, No. 27408. [Class 39 (iii).] An electrical water heater is provided with a main circuit e for the heater element d, a second circuit k in parallel with this containing an alarm bell h and a warning lamp i, and a solenoid n, the core o of which is driven out by the spring m and closes the circuit k when the water falls below the two carbon rods p and p<1> and thus breaks the solenoid circuit q. A lamp t is shunted across these circuits to indicate when the main switch f is on. The alarm devices and operating means may be enclosed in a common casing having a transparent front.
