Abstract

357,811. Tank vehicles. BUTTERFIELD, Ltd., W. P. and BUTTERFIELD, C., Otley Road, Baildon, Shipley, Yorkshire. Oct. 17, 1930, No. 31075. [Class 108 (i).] The bolsters for securing and supporting a tank on a vehicle are constructed of cast metal and provided with pockets for wooden &c. seating blocks. As shown, the cast bolster C is open at the bottom which is provided with securing flanges C<1> and closed at the top surface, pockets P being formed in this upper surface for the reception of the seating blocks W of wood, fibre, rubber, &c. Recesses A, A<1>, A<2> are formed for the reception of pipes P and tie rods F between the bolsters are arranged in staggered relation. Bosses G are formed on the flanges Clover which inverted U-bolts G<1> are arranged to secure the bolsters to the chassis members O. The usual straps S are provided. If desired the bolster may be formed in two parts which are secured together in any appropriate manner.
