357,722. Motor vehicle frames. GUY, S. S., Delamere, Newbridge Avenue, Wolverhampton. Aug. 12, 1930, No. 24072. [Class 79 (iv).] In motor vehicle frame constructions, each side member of the chassis is of composite or built-up construction the body bearing portion comprising a sheet metal pressing consisting of a vertical web a and horizontal flanges a<1>, a2 and the engine bearing portion consisting of a channel section member c adapted for rigid attachment to the forward end of the pressing. The lower flange a2 may be replaced by angle members and brackets b are provided. The body floor boards may be supported by an angle-iron d which also serves as an additional anchorage for the member c.
