Bodies.-In vehicle bodies of the kind in which the walls are built up of sheet-metal sections, the meeting edges of which are flanged and the flanges clipped together, the body is of the commercial van type in which the sides are without doors, access being from the rear, and the walls are made up of a number of sheet-metal sections having their clipped together flanged edges vertically disposed and the roof is composed of similar sections having their flanged edges transversely disposed. The side sections 16 are provided with flanges which may be clipped together by a clip 30, Fig. 5, and riveted &c., or one of the flanges 24, Fig. 4, may be bent over the other flange 22 and riveted &c. The roof sections 18 may also be similarly flanged and clipped. The top edges of the side sections 16 are provided with a bead 32, Fig. 8, and a flange 34 for connection to the roof sections 18, gussets 38 also being provided which pass between the upstanding flanges of the roof sections. The side sections are secured by flanges 56, Fig. 11, to the floor 46 which is secured to the chassis members and by gussets 50 secured to the side sections and provided with a channel member the web 52 of which passes into saw-cuts in the floor and the flanges 54 of which embrace the floor boards. The end section 20, Fig. 12, is bent at the rear and formed with a channel in which a wood strip 62 is secured. Doors 66 are provided which are bent over at the margins to form channels for strengthening purposes. A cab section 19 and a driver's seat are provided.
