Abstract
360,214. Road vehicle bodies. BUDD MANUFACTURING CO., E. G., 25th Street, Philadelphia, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Ledwinka, J. ; c/o Budd Manufacturing Co., 25th Street, Philadelphia, U.S.A.) Nov. 24, 1930, No. 35343. Convention date, Dec. 6, 1929. [Class 108 (i).] In vehicle constructions in which the chassis forms the body underframe and the wall structure is spaced transversely from the chassis longitudinals means are provided for bridging this space and for securing the wall structure with the chassis. As shown in Fig. 3, the inner and outer panels 20, 14 at the threshold are extended inwardly as at 23, 18 and secured to the chassis 10 by bolts 27 the part 23 and the chassis supporting the floor 12. Fig. 4 shows the. provision of a wooden sill 34 secured together with the panel 14 to the attachment plate 33 by which it and the wall structure is secured to the chassis 10. Fig. 5 shows the provision of a channel member 39 secured to the chassis 10 and to the wall structure at 48, 49.
