Abstract
357,018. Printers' composing- appliances. AMRHEIN, G. and BUCHDRUCKEREI, KELLER, & CO., AKT.- GES., Lucerne, Switzerland. Nov. 28, 1930, No. 35886. Convention date, Nov. 28, 1929. [Class 100 (iii).] Holders for standing matter.-A clamp or holder for composed type matter comprises a rigid stirrupshaped frame 1, which embraces the type on three sides, and supports a transverse bridge-piece 4, which is adjustably clamped on the legs 2 of the frame, and carries a head-piece 10 adapted to be forced against the fourth side of the type. The legs 2 of the frame Elide in slots 5, with which communicate inclined passages 6 containing spring-pressed balls 7, by which the bridge-piece 4 is clamped in position. The head-piece 10 is carried by a screw 11 having threaded engagement with the member 4. When the piece 10 is retracted, pins 16 thereon push back the balls 7, so that the bridge-piece 4 is released from the legs 2.
