Abstract

356,168. Rotary pumps. BROWN & SONS (HUDDERSFIELD), Ltd., D. and MERRITT, H. E., Park Gear Works, Lockwood, Huddersfield. March 1, 1930, No. 6802. [Class 110 (ii).] Movable-abutment type.-The housing of a rotary pump of the gear wheel type comprises a ring member c, with wear plates c<4> inserted in the end of its bore to lie flush with the ends of the ring, and endplates d which are secured to the ring and wear members c, c<4> and formed with recesses to receive ball or roller bearings e for the gear spindles. The endplates d may also be formed with annular grooves i at the inner side of the bearings connected to the suction side of the pump so as to return leakage fluid. The bearing recesses in the endplates d are enclosed by covers f, which may have cavities at f<2> to retain lubricant. If the pump is used for oil a connection may be provided from the pump delivery to the bearing chambers whereby oil is circulated therethrough and returned to the suction by the connection to the grooves i.
