Abstract
355,825. Mixing-machines. NIELSEN, N., Egernvej, Copenhagen. May 30, 1930, No. 16789. [Class 86.] Raw cement and other powder is converted into nodules by adding water to the powder during its passage through a mixing worm and then passing the mixture through a rotating mixing drum without further addition of water. Apparatus shown comprises a mixing worm 1 fed from a hopper 2, a perforated water pipe 3 extending along the top of the worm, and a rotating drum 5 which receives the material from the worm. A part of the drum towards the discharge end is formed as a screening surface 6 to separate powder from the nodules, and a conveyer may be provided for returning the powder to the hopper 2.
