355,649. Road vehicle opening tops. PAGE, G., Claremont, Staines Road, East Bedfont, Middlesex. Feb. 25, 1930, No. 6167. Grant of Patent opposed. [Class 108 (i).] In a motor road vehicle of the closed or saloon type, a sliding panel is arranged to close or uncover an opening in the rear panel or quarter of the body and is preferably adapted to slide into a recess behind the rear squab or cushion. The sliding panel as shown comprises a rigid frame g provided with a window light and a flexible part comprising slats j arranged as in a roll-top desk the whole rear panel being covered with fabric j<1> &c. A closable roof comprising hoopsticks e, lazytong arrangement f, a cover adapted to be wound on a front roller, and an inner lining adapted to be wound on a rear roller all as described in Specification 323,593, [Class 108 (i), Road vehicles, Body details &c. of], may be provided and the sliding panel may be locked to such closable roof and operated with it. A balancing arrangement comprising a spring roller l<2>, cord l, and pulley l<1> is provided for the panel.
