Abstract

354,911. Snap-action switches. IDE, G. H. and BENTLEY, H. L., Magnet Works, Landor Street, Birmingham. June 10, 1930, No. 17774. [Class 38 (v).] Switches, quick-action; flexible-pull actuation.-A switch of the kind described in Specification 314,146, [Class 38 (v), Electric switches &c.], is adapted for operation by a flexible chain or the like a. The chain a is connected to a plunger b which it pulls upwards against a returning spring c. The plunger has a pin g engaging a V slot in a rocker i and successive reciprocations of the chain and plunger cause the rocker to pivot alternately about its opposite ends j, k which engages slot l, m in a fixed plate o. The rocker i has a projecting portion p with a slot q engaging trunnions r on a slide s which is thereby moved to right or left each time the right or lefthand end of the rocker i is raised. The contactarm u is pivoted on the trunnions r and is operated on and off with a snap-action each time the trunnions r pass the dead-centre line of a compressionspring link v carried by the contact-arm and pivoted at its upper end to a fixed pivot x.
