Abstract

Controlling consuming devices. - A switch for a lighting system in which a lamp may be turned on or off from more than one point comprises a sliding bar 1 carrying two pairs of conducting bridges, one pair arranged transversely and the other longitudinally. In the position shown in Fig. 3, the transversely-arranged spring-pressed plunger contacts 4, 5, bridge the fixed contacts 6, 7 and 9, 8 respectively. When the bar 1 is' moved into the position shown in Fig. 4, e.g. by means of a tumbler knob and spring mechanism, or by pushing, the longitudinally-arranged contacts 2, 3, which are pressed apart bv blade springs 12, bridge the fixed contacts 7, 8 and 6, 9 respectively. Fig. 6 shows the switch arranged between two ordinary two-way switches in a system for controlling a lamp 15. The lamp may be switched on or off from any of the three points.
