Abstract

354,506. Crimping &c. paper sheets. WENDEL, R., 25, Borgmastaregatan, Orebro, Sweden. July 1, 1930, No. 19953. [Class 141.] In the production of creped or crinkled paper in which the effect is produced in narrow bands by a notched or recessed doctor, the bands are made wavy in form. The paper 6, Fig. 6, is removed from the roll 5 of the creping machine by a notched doctor 4, which is oscillated to produce the wavy bands 1, Fig. 3. The doctor may be mounted in a guide 8,. Fig. 11, and oscillated from a crank 10 driven by a chain 13 from the roll shaft 50. The teeth 40, Fig. 9, on the doctor may be rectangular in form and may be secured as fingers on a base beam 30. The paper may be carried on a plane stationary surface and the doctor be given a wavy progressive movement, or the doctor may be advanced in a straight line and the surface on which the paper rests be given a lateral movement. The surface carrying the paper may be grooved and a plain-edged doctor be used.
