Abstract
468,914. Shaping and printing cardboard blanks. BOBST ET FILS SOC. ANON., J. Oct. 30, 1936, No. 29551. Convention date, Nov. 6, 1935. [Class 100 (ii)] Cardboard box blanks of the forms shown in Figs. 2 and 3 made from a continuous web are drawn by grippers to a printing device, by the joining fold 15 or 16 of the blank so that the blank itself may be properly printed. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the web 2 is led over rollers 3, 4 to a printing device 5. An oscillating gripper 7 maintains the web in place while it is severed by member 12 and then passes it to one of grippers 9, 10 or 11 on a cylinder. the rotation of which causes the printing of the blanks moving in the direction B, Fig. 3, i.e. in the direction of movement of the web. For the blanks shown in Fig. 2, the movement of the blank is perpendicular to that of the web, the movement being in the direction B, Fig. 2.
