Abstract

Tar-bitumen-concrete and tar-bitumen-sand mixtures for roads &c. purposes are made by compounding ground natural asphaltic limestone, mineral substances, and bitumen with a penetration between 60 and 300 on the Richardson scale, by heating the ground natural asphaltic limestone employed as a filler, with the other mineral substances before mixing with the binding medium. Temperatures of mixing are from 100-200 DEG C. The mineral matter used is compounded according to the minimum hollow space principle.
