Abstract

Tar-bitumen-concrete and tar-bitumen-sand mixtures for roads &c. purposes are made by compounding ground natural asphaltic limestone, mineral substances, coal tar, and bitumen, by heating the ground natural asphaltic limestone employed as a filler with the other mineral substances before mixing with the binding medium. If desired, the coal tar may be employed alone as the binding medium. The mineral matter is compounded according to the minimum hollow space principle.
