Process for the production of a coal tar and asphalt-like street battery. The invention relates to a method for the production of a coal tar and asphalt-containing road building material, such as tar asphalt concrete and tar asphalt sand. This process is characterized by the fact that instead of filler, natural asphalt limestone powder with other comminuted minerals of at most splinters
such as grit or Sand and grit or sand alone, mixed, this mixture adds coal tar and mixes it thoroughly in a mixer. If necessary, you can also mix asphalt with the coal tar.
It is advisable to combine natural asphalt limestone powder and minerals in a dry and warm state.
Various things should be considered with regard to the mixing process: Melting kettles with mixing or stirring devices such as those used for mastic asphalt production are unsuitable for this purpose.
Wing mixers and generally all mixing units that are used for the production of rolled asphalt, tar concrete or tar macadam masses that are not heated and in which the mixing process is completed in a short time, for example in a few minutes, can be used. Appropriately, the natural asphalt limestone powder is brought into the mixer in a heated state.
It is expediently mixed with the other minerals through a drying drum, where it is dried and heated and then passed into the mixer. This way of working, the flour is mixed well with the other minerals. When heated, the natural asphalt limestone disintegrates, the asphalt comes to the surface, certain parts become even volatile and at the same time cover the surface of the other mineral parts with natural asphalt limestone powder and prepare particularly good miscibility and adhesion to the binding agent to be added in the mixing box.
As an additional binder, asphalt and coal tar can be used in a wide variety of mixing ratios. You can put the pure coal tar alone. If only coal tar is added, the required asphalt is brought into the mixture through the asphalt limestone.
According to this process, a road building material containing coal tar and asphalt is obtained with the character of tar asphalt concrete and tar asphalt sand, which is transported, spread and rolled in in a similar way to rolled asphalt.
The invention brings enormous advantages because coal tar and asphalt-containing road building materials are becoming increasingly important in practice, since they combine the advantages of the binding agents asphalt and tar in various ways, and because they are completely produced using the new process local building materials is possible.
