[Class 28 (i).] In heating apparatus comprising superposed heat-accumulating metal blocks 1, 2, Figs. 1, 2, traversed by channels 3 containing vaporizable liquid, the pipes 20 which connect the channel systems of the blocks serve also as supports for the blocks. In the stove shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the lower horizontal block 2 is supported on vertical blocks 5, 6, 7 containing channels 8, 9, 10 which are connected to the channels 2 of the block 2 by pipes 11, 12, 13. The gases from a grate 15 pass to the rear of the stove and thence forwardly between the blocks 9, 10. Electric heating means, shown at 29, may also be employed. An insulating partition 25 divides the space between the blocks into chambers 26, 27, the latter being surrounded with insulating material 30. The spaces 26, 27 serve for roasting or baking whilst the block 1 forms a hot-plate for supporting utensils. In a modification, four chambers are formed between the blocks 1, 2, the two upper being surrounded with insulating material. Fig. 4 shows a construction stated to be suited for use in bread baking ovens, and comprising four superposed blocks 50 .. 53, supported by the tubes 55 which connect the heating channels in them. The upper block supports a chamber 59 with heat-insulating walls 58. To obtain a lower temperature for confectionery goods insulating material may be placed between the chamber 59 and the block 53. The channels may, as shown, be spaced differently in the various blocks in order to obtain different temperatures; they may also be differently spaced in various parts of one and the same block.
