Abstract

353,628. Watch cases. ADIE, P. J., Atlas Works, Soho Hill, Birmingham. June 12, 1930, No. 17985. [Class 139.] In a watch case having a slidable hinged lid 14 and a catch 18 adapted to be secured or released by sliding the lid relatively to the body 7, the hinge comprises a longitudinally-slotted tube 1 in which a plurality of independent knuckle segments 3 are adapted to slide, the segments extending through the slot and being formed with barrels 4 connected by a hinge-pin 16 with barrels 13 on the lid 14. The tube 1 is mounted in the body 7, preferably below an overhanging rim 9 with the barrels 4 projecting through a slot 10. A spring 17 for opening the lid may be provided in the hinge. A strengthening wire 6 may extend through the segments 3 within the tube 1.
