Abstract
353,285. Sizing and dressing yarns. PAILLET, J. L. V., 7, Rue Thiers, Wignehies, Nord, France. Aug. 18, 1930, No. 24679. Convention date, Aug. 21, 1929. [Class 140.] In a machine for sizing or dressing warp threads, the sized threads travel in such a path that they are brought into contact with themselves at one or more points so that a rubbing action is produced. The device comprises two pairs of cylinders, b, b<1>, and b1, b<1>1, provided with helical ribs. Each pair of cylinders is mounted on a member k, k1, which itself is pivoted to permit angular movement of the common plane of the axes of the pair of cylinders. The warp threads after passing through the sizing or coating device c are separated into two sets a, a<1>, and passed round the cylinders, as shown. On starting the machine, the cylinders b<1>, b<1>1 are moved outwardly into the position shown, so that the sheet of threads is brought into contact with itself at the points x, y.
