[Class 18.] An ornamental box has one or more onepiece mouldings each wholly or partly enclosing or forming the sides thereof and formed of plaster-of Paris, papier mÔchÚ, or other plastic material which sets hard after moulding. As shown, the cardboard box or liner b is secured to an extended base c and the one-piece moulding a is fitted over and entirely surrounds the sides b<1> and may be secured by glue &c. to the sides b<1> or to the base c or to both the sides bl and base c. The moulding may be covered with paper or otherwise decorated and may be solid or in the form of a shell and may be reinforced by wire or string or by strips e of cardboard &c. on the inner faces thereof; reinforcing strips may be embedded in the moulding and the corners of the strips mitred or shaped to reinforce the corners of the moulding which may also be thickened. The moulding may be formed with horizontal and vertical internal faces for securing to the liner and the sides b<1> of the latter may be omitted in which case the vertical internal faces of the moulding form the inner faces of the box.
