Abstract
352,277. Packing velvets. ETABLISSEMENTS J. L. DUBAR ET FILS, 86, Rue du Fresnoy, and DUBAR, J. V., 96, Boulevard de Paris, both in Roubaix, France. July 28, 1930, No. 22659. [Class 94 (i).] Velvet is packed by rolling upon a cardboard tube A, paper being interposed between the first turns, and paper discs b are applied so as to cover the selvages and ends of the roll. Bandages g are applied at three places and a sheet C of corrugated cardboard is superposed and bound at c. Cruciform members E, each carrying an endplate or disc with an octagonal pin Dare next applied so that the pins enter the ends of the tube. Distance rings a may be used to compensate for any deficiency in length of the tube A. Laths F are nailed to the ends of the members E and are bound at the centre by a strap. The whole is enclosed in corrugated cardboard and one or more packages may be sewn within a jute cover.
