Abstract

352,122. Hand stapling tools. SWITZENY, P., 17, Gerstlgasse, Vienna. April 22, 1930, No. 12375. Convention date, Dec. 13, 1929. [Class 89 (iii).] In a hand stapling device having a staplecarrying bar that is removable from the device for the purpose of charging it with staples, the bar 6 is hollow, Fig. 4, with flanges 9 which slide into grooves 7 formed in an open-topped groove in the lower part of the body 3, Fig. 3, of the device. The bar has pierced or slotted lugs 10 whereby it is located by the hinge pin 2 which connects the body 3 and base 1. The staple feed comprises a pusher 11 slidable along a rod 14 under pressure of a spring. The rod 14 has a hooked end engageable in any one of a plurality of holes 16, 17 in the bar 6. The pusher 6 has lugs 12 which prevent its forward end from passing beneath the driver 13. In a modification, Fig. 6, the base 19 is long and graduated and carries an arm 20 to which the body of the device is pivoted by means of ears 22. This base is adapted for the uniform stapling of papers.
