Abstract
351,862. Electric furnaces. ZINGG, J., 5, Sonnenbergstrasse, Seebach, Switzerland. Oct. 17, 1930, No. 31161. Convention date, Dec. 13, 1929. [Class 39 (iii).] An electrically heated glass-bending furnace is divided by a removable partition 4 into heating and cooling compartments 5, 6, respectively, the two being connected by an external closable conduit 8. After the bending has been effected in the compartment 5 the conduit 8 is opened so that hot air will flow into and raise the temperature of the chamber 6. The partition 4 is then raised and the mould 14 with the bent sheet is transferred to the cooling chamber leaving the heating chamber ready for a further bending operation. The mould is carried on a platform 13, which is manipulated by a truck 12 having a body which is vertically movable, so that after the platform 13 has been run into the heating chamber and lowered on to side ledges, the truck can be withdrawn.
