Abstract
351,061. Aeroplane controls. FAIREY AVIATION CO., Ltd., Cranford Lane, Hayes, Middlesex, and LOBELLE, M. J. O., Studio B, Anhalt Road, Battersea, London. March 21,1930, No. 9150. [Class 4.] In aeroplanes employing ailerons of the type described in Specification 194,753, means are provided for moving the pivotal axes of the ailerons transversely of the general plane of the wing. An aileron b is shown pivoted at a to one arm c of a two-armed lever c, d pivoted at e to the lower edge of the trailing end of a wing f. Normal operation of the aileron is effected by the rod and lever mechanism k, m, o and movement of the aileron axis is effected by camber control gear operating a leading screw h passing through a nut g pivoted to the arm d. The arrangement is such that in no circumstances can use of the camber control gear cause the leading edge of the aileron b to project above the upper surface of the wing f.
