Abstract

351,028. Cartons for cigarettes &c. MOLINS, W. E., 2, Evelyn Street, Deptford, London. Feb. 18, 1930, No. 5396. [Class 18.] The front panel of a carton for cigarettes &c. is slit and fan-folded into not more than two upstanding ridges which lie between' the cigarettes to separate them into not more than three groups and which extend to the back panel of the carton and reinforce it. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the front panel 1 of the carton is cut along the lines 3, 4 and the part 6 between the cuts is folded on the line 5 to lie between the cigarettes and the panel with the parts between each pair of cuts 3, 4 fan-folded to form the ridges 7. The back panel of the carton may be slit on the lines 8 to facilitate the removal of the cigarettes. In the case of a double-pocketed carton, a liner of tinfoil may be provided for the cigarettes with the ends of the liner held beneath the folded over parts 6. One of the flaps of the drawer of a drawer-and-shell carton may be similarly cut and folded.
