Abstract

The process of making rubber articles by the local heating of destabilized latex described in Specification 284,608, [Class 70, Indiarubber &c.], is applied to vulcanized latex, e.g. that produced according to Specifications 193,451, 208,235, and 266,418, [all in Class 70, Indiarubber &c.]. The latex may be destabilized by the substances described in the above mentioned Specification, by aromatic disubstituted guanidines, as in Specification 330,520, [Class 70, Indiarubber &c.], by metallic salts such as those of di or trivalent bases, or by ammonium salts of strong acids in conjunction with metallic oxides, as in Specification 292,964, [Class 70, Indiarubber &c.]. Tubes may be made by the process described in Specification 301,476, [Class 70, Indiarubber &c.]. Numerous examples of mixes, times, temperatures, &c. are given.
