Abstract
350,784. Aeroplane landing gear. SOKAL, S., 1, Great James Street, Bedford Row, London.-(Fiat Soc. Anon. ; 250, Via Nizza, Turin. Italy.) July 19, 1930, No. 21907. [Class 4.] A device for compensating the torque acting upon the struts and caused by the wheel braking is provided in which a torque counteracting the torque of the brake is produced by a lateral displacement of the point of connection of a shock absorber or elastic strut connected to the wheel axle. The point of connection or application of the strut of the shock-absorber 4, 5 with the wheel axle 2 is displaced laterally in order to give a torque countering that due to the application of the brake 6. The shock-absorber is adjusted laterally by means of a wing-nut 3.
