Abstract
350,260. Cylinders. SULZER FR’RES SOC. ANON., Winterthur, Switzerland. June 24, 1930, No. 19226. Convention date, Aug. 21, 1929. [Class 7 (ii).] A cylinder liner 2 is clamped to the head by an annular member 7 which engages a flange 31 on the liner, a helical rib 27 co-operating with a similar rib on the liner to form a helical passage for the cooling water. A pipe 14 conveys the water to spiral passages in the head formed by ribs on a head liner 10 which is clamped between the cylinder liner and the head. The head is, independently, fixed to the cylinder block by bolts 6.
