Abstract
350,223. Radiators. LISTER & CO., Ltd., R. A. and SANDERS, A. F., Victoria Iron Works, Long Street, Dursley, Gloucestershire. May 30, 1930, No. 16735. [Classes 29 and 64 (iii).] The cooling-water radiator of an internal-combustion engine comprises an annular block of tubes 10 arranged in a casing through which the water is circulated outside the tubes, cooling air being forced through the tubes, the outer ends of which are enlarged to a greater extent than the inner ends, by a blower comprising blades 6 secured between plates 4 carried by the engine flywheel. The tubes may be of tapered form. In a modification, the radiator is carried by a member 14, Fig. 4, secured to a stationary part of the engine, the air being drawn through a filtering screen 22 and forced through the tubes by a fan 18 on the engine shaft.
