Abstract

425,616. Radiators for cooling liquids. BOWMAN, E. J., 29, Whitehouse Street, Birmingham. Sept. 16, 1933, No. 25673. [Class 29] A radiator 11 for portable or stationary engines is mounted within a rectangular casing 1 which is secured by bolts 9 to a base plate 7 mounted on the engine, and carries an adjustable spider frame 23 for a fan 24 and its belt pulley 25. The casing is open at the bottom and its wider walls overlap the edges of the base plate, while its narrower edges rest on the plate. The radiator is inserted into the casing from the bottom and its lower header 13 rests on a removable plate 8, which is slid into position on the bed plate. Rubber &c. strips 17, 18 are inserted between the lower header and the plate 8 and between the upper header and the top of the casing. The ends of the spider arms are secured by bolts 20 engaged in slots 19 in the casing, these bolts also serving to secure a flanged part 29 of a plate 28 carrying a wire screen 27.
