Abstract

350,174. Pulleys. MANNING, W. J., Machinery Works, Green Lane, Wolverhampton. May 6, 1930, No. 13842. [Class 80 (i).] ] Split pulleys have their half rims 2 each spanned by a strip 3 curved centrally to form a half boss and entering slots near the ends of the rim halves, to which they are riveted or welded. The rim halves are further spanned by strips 6 through which pass tubes 5 bearing on the strips 3 and upon the heads x and nuts 9 of bolts 8. The nuts 9 are pinned to the strips 6, so that, when the heads x are turned by a tool inserted in holes 11 in the rim, the boss halves are tightened upon the shaft.
