Abstract
244,057. Passega, C. Dec. 2, 1924, [Convention date]. Endless-track vehicles.-A portable or endlesstrack wheel comprises tread shoes e freely suspended from the rim of an ordinary wheel, by couplings comprising pins and slots with curved outlines, the pins being arranged at a distance irom the centre of the wheel at least equal to the wheel radius. The pins b<1> are carried by blocks a provided with tenons c<1> and bolts or cotter pins d whereby they are secured to the outside of the rim of the wheel. The sides of the slots l on the shoes in which the pins b<1> work are cycloidal so that as the wheel rolls on one shoe a pin rides against a side of the slot in the next shoe. Curved parts on the blocks fit into similar depressions k in the shoes. The pins may be on the shoes and the slots l in the blocks. The shoes comprise side flanges connected by tread-bars h.
