Abstract

305,347. Tucker, R. A. Dec. 30, 1927. Chain - wheels.-Chain-wheels or the like have teeth 4, 5 upon the edges of their peripheries either in the same plane or staggered as shown and bent or splayed outwardly from the central plane of the wheel. The wheel may be turned, cast, stamped, pressed, &c. in one piece or may be built up from separate members 2, 3 bolted, pinned, brazed, &c. together. The number of teeth on one side may be greater than that on the other. Intermediate discs, such as 1, Fig. 2, which may have plain or toothed peripheries and may be arranged in any number or order, may be arranged between the outer discs 2, 3. The chains are made to appropriate form.
