244,087. Larsson, J. F. Dec. 6, 1924, [Convention date]. Chain gearing. - In chain gearing having a chain wheel 2 the pitch of which is greater than the pitch of the driven chain 8, the chain wheel teeth are constructed so that the link in contact with the operative tooth is allowed to slide along the latter until the next tooth engages the corresponding link. The chain is guided between rods 11, 12 on leaving the wheel in order to avoid jerks. The side plates 15, 16 of the links rest on the edges of discs 4, 5 mounted on the hub 3 of the chain wheel. Each second link is provided with projections 17 to support the red hot iron bars &c. carried. The chain may also be used in agricultural machinery, such as self-binding harvesting machines.
