Abstract
269,659. Brammer, H., and Hall, F. Jan. 21, 1926. Belts; belt fastenings.-Belts for engaging V- pulleys in atuomobiles &c. and for other purposes are formed in one corrugated length, Fig. 1, or of a number of strips 13, Fig. 4, of leather, rubber, balata, or leather combined with balata or rubber, the corrugations or the .strip ends being connected by polygonal bolts 6 provided with cross heads 9, 10 screwed thereon. Between the strips, Fig. 4, or between the belt ends, Fig. 1. are arranged wedge or other shaped strengthening plates 21, Fig. 7, arranged in pairs with bent ends 20 engaging slots in the ends 14, 15 of the strips or belt. Two or more bolts 6 may be arranged side by side at each joint across the width of the belt. The belt edges may be shaped by cutters to fit the V-grooves as the last stage in the production of the belt.
