Abstract

348,808. Pneumatic dispatch apparatus. AKT.-GES. J. J. RIETER ET CIE, Winterthur, Switzerland. April 2, 1930, No. 10501. Convention date, April 6, 1929. [Class 116.] In a dust separating and discharge chamber for a pneumatic conveying system in which the air current and the conveyed goods enter a bucket wheel 4 and the former passes through a sieve wall 11, the current enters in a tangential direction and serves to drive the bucket and thus effects the discharge of the goods. The goods and current are directed to the wheel by a pivoted flap 19 ; the goods being temporarily retained in segmental compartments formed by radial blades 8 and the air passing to the main conduit 1 by way of the sieve wall and a passage 22 formed by a pivoted flap 20. Hinged lids 15, 16 encase a part of the circumference of the wheel; while a slab 23 serves to isolate the goods from the effect of the air current and permit their discharge by centrifugal force. The flaps 19, 20 may be moved to render the wheel inoperative.
