Abstract

348,348. Bed-pans. CHAMBERS, L. A., 5330, Delmar Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A. April 22, 1930, No. 12460. [Class 26.] A bed-vessel comprises a pan 1 of rigid material such as aluminium, glass, &c., and a cushion 15 which overlies the edge of the pan and rests on the surface by which the latter is supported. The bottom of the pan comprises a portion 4 of substantial area and a trough 5 leading to an outlet tube 7 which is provided with a rotatable screen 8. The cushion, which may be inflatable, is provided with an apron 16 which is placed over the outwardlyturned edge 2 of the pan and is secured by an elastic or other cord 17 or by a rib of rubber integral with the apron. In another form, the cushion is provided with a continuous web passing beneath the pan.
