Abstract

348,281. Photographic paper-negatives. TACKELS, J., 149, Rue de la Bruyere, Genval, Belgium. March 13, 1930, No. 8158. [Class 98 (ii).] For the production of paper negatives raw paper or paper which has already been coated with an underlayer of barium sulphate, chalk, starch milk, formol or other known substances employed for this purpose, is treated with acid, such as sulphuric acid, in a coating machine, and then coated with a silver emulsion to which has been added from 0À2 to 6 per cent of a fatty or oily substance. Examples of the latter are polyalcohols, (such as glycerine), Lanoline, Vaseline, hydrocarbon derivatives (such as liquid paraffin). The oily substance should be chemically inert as regards the emulsion, the speed of which is increased by the addition.
