Abstract

Stable emulsions of fats, oils, paraffin wax, and the like, having positively charged particles, are produced by the use of an aqueous mixture of a protective colloid and an aluminium salt. Example: 100 parts of aluminium acetate are added to a solution of 80 parts of gelatine in 700 parts of water and the mixture maintained for some time at 60 DEG C. and subsequently employed to emulsify a mixture of 125 parts of petroleum jelly and 125 parts of paraffin; the product is a stable plastic emulsion dilutable to any degree without separation.
