Abstract

347,816. Cases for dispensing tablets. OSBORN, H., 8, College Road, West Ealing, London. March 10, 1930, No. 7798. [Class 18.] Tablets e.g. of the kind which deteriorate when exposed to air such as effervescent tablets and which are sold in a glass, metal, celluloid, or bakelite tube with one end open, are dispensed by mounting the tube a in an aperture c in a bracket d provided with an indiarubber gasket g to make an airtight joint having a bifurcated arm f which supports the middle of the tube. The lowest tablet is delivered by pulling out a drawer h by means of its handle h<1> against the pressure of a spring m, the tablet falling into a glass &c. held below the drawer. The bracket d is rotatable on a fixed bracket q, and is held in the upright position by means of a spring-pressed ball r engaging a notch s. A washer o keeps the drawer airtight. In an alternative form the glass &c. tube a is enclosed in a metal tube integral with the bracket d, slotted to permit inspection and provided with a screw-cap and a spring to bear against the closed end of the glass &c. tube. The metal tube may also be carried by the bracket d.
