Abstract

[Class 94 (i)] [See also Group I] A device for facilitating the enclosure of mattresses &c. in bags comprises a sheet metal tube 1 mounted on a frame 2 at an incline, and with the upper end flared at 5. The other end is provided with a split ring 6 held in floating relation to the tube by resilient tongues 10 and adapted to be drawn tightly upon the tube, and on a bag drawn over the end thereof, by a hand lever 11 and link 14. In use, a bag is secured in position and a rolled mattress is forced into it through the tube. The lower part of the bag may be supported by a platform, and the mattress may be forced into the bag by means of a rammer. The tube may be mounted to project downwardy through an aperture in a floor and may be made adjustable in diameter.
